Juror’s Statement: An artist’s creation is a very personal experience. How that art touches others is dependent on certain fundamentals. Through composition, technique and knowledge of materials, a communication with the viewer develops. Some works exhibit colorful harmonies while others tell a story with line and value change. Whether realistic or abstract, the work should convey the artist’s conviction of what they want to express. Originality and artistic presentation complete this dialog with the viewer.
